Autumn Leaf
Luminaria

For a classic fall decoration,
inside or out,
this one will really shine!

Materials needed:

-Bag8 template from Draggin' InkJ
-One sheet of 8
2@ X 11" paper
-scissors
-pencil
-tape or glue
-sand (about a cup)
-tea light or votive candle

Optional:
-decorative edging scissors
-stylus
-tracing paper

Trace and cut the bag according to the directions. Trace the leaf pattern on the right onto a separate piece of paper.
With the sharp end of your pencil or using a stylus, poke holes into the pattern so the outline of the leaf comes thru. If you would like to use another pattern, try to choose one that will look good as an outline.

Place the "poked" pattern on one of the wide sides of the bag. Mark the pattern thru the holes and onto the bag. Use the pattern twice, one leaf higher than the other. Poke the holes in the bag using your pencil or stylus, making sure that the holes are clear of the paper behind them so the light will shine thru.

At this point, if you like, use your decorative edging scissors to give the top edge of the Luminaria a cool edge. Some neat designs for autumn from Fiskars have names such as Batwings, Lightning, Volcano, Aztec and, of course, Dragon-Back.

Finish putting the bag together, fill with sand and the candle.
Use it as a temporary light for stairs or as a table or mantle decoration.
