Classy Clutch Purse©

For steppin= out on the
town this classy little
purse can be made to
complete your
ensemble!

Materials needed:

-Expandable Envelope template
-
one piece heavy-duty cardstock
(Plastisheen or Cadillac paper  is ideal!)
-one piece contrasting paper, 6" square
-double stick tape or glue
-sticky back Velcro, 1- 1"pieces
-scoring tool such as the Dual Tool
-scissors
-pencil or pen
-cutting mat or pad of paper for a          good working surface

Optional
Funky (fake) Fur, 6" square
two yards 1/2" silk cording
Large decorative button

Using the template, trace the outline, shifting the template side to side to make the purse as wide as possible. Modify the top as follows. Mark an extension of the sides of the top flap all the way to the edge of the paper. Score the pattern, making sure the slot is NOT cut or scored. Cut out the pattern and mark the top flap and the contrasting 6"X 6" sheet of paper or fake fur as shown. Attach the two matching the back edges of the flap. Fold on score lines and tape or glue side flaps according to the diagram. Attach Velcro and/or decorative button if desired.

For a shoulder strap

Make 2 horizontal slits in the sides 3/4" and 1 1/2" from the top edge.  Run the cording thru the slits and tie off one end of the cording 3" from the end. Adjust the length for the shoulder strap according to your taste and tie off the other end. Fray the ends for a tasseled look.

Now you're ready to knock 'em dead!
