Fabric or
Napkin Envelopes

for that very special
invitation, gift or letter!

Materials needed:
-Any
Draggin= InkJ Envelope template
-1/4 yard each of two different fabrics
and
fusible web such as Wonder Under
J
or if using paper napkins,
-a napkin at least 11" sq.
-decorative button
-iron and ironing surface
-scissors
-pencil, pen or fabric pen
-needle and thread

Trace the pattern onto the back side of the fabric or paper napkin with your marking device. Follow the directions for the fusible web and apply it to the back side of the fabric over the traced pattern and cut out. Remove the paper from the fusible web and iron it thoroughly to the backside of the other piece of fabric. Trim to pattern line. Following the directions on the template, iron along the fold lines and glue any edges that may not have been fused. Iron flat. Estimate where the button for the closure will be placed (if needed). Sew the button on. Mark and make sure the slot for the button hole is correct, then cut the slot.

NOTE: Envelopes made from fabric will probably go thru the mail O.K. (If you really want to send them) but they will be heavier so more postage will be needed. Also you will need to make sure that whatever is in the envelope won=t fall out in the mailing process.

Fill with your party invitations, photos, souvenirs or remembrances of an occasion.

Some suggestions for other closures:
-sticky-back Velcro inside and a seashell, pin, patch, sticker, beads, coins etc., outside.
-Use Two buttons and a 3/8" length of ribbon, wrapping the ribbon around the buttons.
-Use a shoelace and cut a couple of slits in both the underside and the outside flap.  Lace the shoelace thru and tie.
-Do the same thing, but use trim, seam binding or bias tape.
