Firecracker Box For a eye-popping, Materials needed:
For Paperfusing: (See Paperfusing
instructions) Trace and mark and the template pattern on the white card stock. Decide which direction you'd like the stripes to go.
Or if you like, you can skip this step all together, use red construction
paper, and go straight to the construction of the box. Cut or tear strips of the
red and blue tissue paper long enough to cover the surface of the pattern in the
direction you are working (usually from 6" to 9") and fuse the paper
(see Paperfusing
instructions)
to the card stock, making sure that the "seam"
area is left clear. After fusing, score along the score lines and cut out.
Crease where indicated and glue or tape, leaving one end open. For the Fuse: Divide the 2' long piece of cotton cording into three pieces of 8" each and tie a knot at one end. Braid the three pieces in a traditional braid and tie a knot on the other end. Make a hole in the center of the bottom end flap of the open end. Run the fuse thru the hole and tape down. Cut a slot in the widest part of the top flap that extends to the center so that it will fit around the fuse when the box is closed. If desired, dip the end in a little glue and roll in glitter for that sparkly effect! Look for Draggin'
