Paper Puppet Pincher
(Painless!)
For St. Patrick's Day

A new, easy twist (or pinch) on an old favorite for those not wearin' the green!

Materials needed:
-Square-Velopes© template
(medium or extra small size)
-One sheet 8 1/2" X 11" green construction paper
-One sheet 8 1/2" X 11" coordinating color paper
-Scissors
-Pencil
-Colored markers
-Clear adhesive tape OR glue
-St. Patrick Day sticker (optional)
-Ruler (optional)
-Cutting board (optional)

To Make the Pincher:

Ever heard of a Cootie Catcher? We used to call them fortune tellers. Whatever you call them, they are simple to make and are the basis for the Pincher. Using the green paper, follow the steps on the next page for making the Paper Puppet Pincher, noting the markings for "valley folds" (dashes) and for "peak folds" (dots).

When you are done folding, mark the eyes, nose (and maybe a tongue and teeth if you want).  You can use the pattern on the next page for the eyes. Tape or glue the mouth and two halves of the face in place.

Using the medium or extra small Square-Velope template with the other sheet of paper, follow the directions on the template to make a small "home" for your Paper Puppet Pincher when it's not out on the prowl. Close the Square-Velope with a St. Patrick's day sticker.

Find someone who's not wearing green on St. Patrick's day and
give 'em a nibble!
